Blogger Craft Challenge #3

Louise over at Beachys Cape Cod Cupboard is hosting her third "Blooger Craft Challenge." She has given us another wonderful picture from an album she bought at a sale last summer. The pictures are dated around the 1930'sThis picture was called Whitby 1935. I found out that Whitby is on the North Shore of England. This time I decided to make a memory jar of treasures one of them might have collected from their day at the Sea Side. I used a very old canning jar that was my grandmothers, and filled it with sand, shells, beach glass, and beach stones. I wrapped a shell necklace around the jar (maybe she bought it from one of the venders) made a tag and added a gold edged shell. I called this piece "Seaside Memories"

I am finding these challenges so much fun and would like to thank Louise for hosting this for all of us.

Beautiful selection of music on your blog for the current challenge themes.

Your version of the Beachy’s CapeCod Cupboard challenge is darling, am sure anyone who has spent time on the beach would have a jar of memories tucked away someplace to hold their special memories.

Sorry I missed the blinged birdhouse challenge as it looks like everyone had lots of fun with it and your pink house is the cutest.

What a lovely idea, I too love to collect shells and sea glass. I have buckets of shells that my husband can attest to! Not necessarily with a smile.

Hi, Thanks for visiting my 'hat collection'. I have missed your input for Beachies third challenge, what a shame. I'm glad I see it now, because it's wonderful. I had problems with blowing up that picture, so I decided to leave that challenge for what it was. You did a terrific job!

Oooo, I love what you've done with this seaside theme! I just finished re-decorating my bathroom...everything to do with the seaside too...fish, a Japanese glass fishing float, lighthouses decals. I wanted some sort of a decoration for my counter top, & I think something like this would be just perfect to make. I'm also going to alter a wooden cigar box and put a wooden fish on its lid for the bathroom. Isn't altered art just the cats pyjamas, Karen!?! lol
Hugs and nite nites! Val :)

oooh! what a fabulous memory jar and a super fun challenge ... I live in SW FL, so have a number of beaches near me. my favorite is Stump Pass where I have found hundreds of sharks teeth and wonderful pepples - the shells are ok, but the rocks are amazing!
