OH MY!!! Time to Catch Up

Oh My, It's hard to believe that so much time has past since my last post. I need to do some catching up.

Back at the end of April I attended a Quilt Show that was held at our Botanical Gardens. The Halton Quilt Guild has some very talented members and this is a few of the quilts I liked. You can click on any of my pictures to see them in a larger format.

On Mother's Day we went to the Botanical Gardens to attend the Tulip Festival. I just love being in the gardens when they have music playing. The tulips were in their prime.

I also attended the annual antique show that specializes in sewing implements, fabric, clothing, linens. and other beautiful items. Here some of my purchases: Pink leather gloves from the 30's; silk dresser scarf; cosmetic bag from the 20's; pink hosiery keep; velvet orchid and a thimble holder.
Vintage Treasures

At our last camera club meeting we all went out to practise taking night shots. We were working on Street Scapes. It was my first time doing night photos and working with manual settings and a tripod. Here are some of my first efforts. The Twilight photo was auto and hand held. I also managed to get some streaks from the cars passing by. I would like to go out again and get more practise doing these fun shots.

So very happy to have you back! That velvety orchid is to die for. The quilt show must have been wonderful...your pictures are great. The botanical gardens looks like it was in full bloom and gorgeous. You have been pretty busy...and one more time, it is good to have you back.

I have been following your lovely blog for quite some time and I think I am in love with the cosmetic bag. (I know it would ruin a beautifully composed photo but I always think a penny would give a sense of scale - don't tell saucy I said that, she'll have a fit!)
I am also entrahled by your choice of cats (everyone of our children became allergic, sigh)but once upon a time, we had a Russian Blue and a Chocolate point Siamese.

Good to hear from you again! You have done quite a lot! I love all your photos! That fin de siecle quilt is beautiful. I love all your pink old new treasures. I think I can understand the scale perfectly because of the gloves included in some of the photos. Great effect of the (traffic) lights in your night photos.
Welcome back and have a great day!
